v No One Should Die Alone, Need Volunteers (90016)  Silverado Hospice, Los Angeles
Silverado Hospice is looking for volunteers to join our team. Our patient's are terminally ill and in their final stages of life. As a Hospice Volunteer you will be visiting patients in their own homes, in hospitals or other nursing facilities. You'll be assigned to a patient as close to your home as possible. We need volunteers who are willing to read the paper or a book to the patient, share hobbies, play & listen to soothing music, talk and share stories or just listen to their life stories, bring flowers from a garden, share photos, or just sit quietly and be the gift of presence for them. Making a difference for those at the end of life can have a profound effect on our lives and the lives we touch. As a TrinityCare volunteer, you'll work together with or palliative care and hospice team to meet the needs of each patient and their family. We serve both adults and children. There are many opportunities to share your unique talents and gifts, including:Legacy Art Program - creating a lasting memory for children and adults
Heart Touch - use your training and gift of touch in the most powerful way possible: to help alleviate the pain and isolation. No One Dies Alone - support for those without family or loved ones at the end of life.Memory Bears - creating and sewing bears as legacy gifts to comfort the bereaved.Transportation - driving our van to help patients and family keep appointmentsoffice/Administration - sharing your time and organizational skills to support our team.
