Duties and Responsibilities:

Craniosacral therapy is based on the work of an American osteopath, Dr William Garner Sutherland, who developed a new approach to osteopathy known as the ‘Cranial Concept’ in the early 1900s. He discovered that the skull’s bones and the fluids which surround the brain have intrinsic movements. Their natural pulsations reveal different rhythms and energy processes which influence the whole body and our health. They can become restricted or inhibited in case of trauma, stresses and strains.

“Right is Right even if everyone is against it wrong is wrong even if everyone is for it”

William Penn

Reflection:

I think what William Penn is trying to say that it doesn’t matter how many people are doing something wrong it still won’t make it right. Just because someone else is doing that doesn’t mean you have to do it as well. You have to make the right choices yourself not because someone else told you to.

Instructors provide hands-on direction to make sure students are performing movements properly and applying the breathing techniques. Yoga instructors may work in a class or in a one-on-one setting.

Salary:

$36,900-$66,530

Training standards are not required throughout the industry, but the nonprofit group Yoga Alliance has established training standards for yoga instructors. Yoga Alliance requires instructors to receive at least 200 training hours, with a specified portion of those hours focusing on techniques, teaching methodology, anatomy, philosophy and physiology, as well as other areas. The Yoga Alliance registers or accredits schools that train students to its standards.

Reflection:

Maybe I would like to be a Yoga therapist because yoga is calm and relaxing to do. But then sometimes it does get boring at times and a little hard.

Chromo therapy or color therapy

Duties and Responsibilities:

Color therapy and healing (also known as chromotherapy or light therapy) is a type of holistic healing that uses the visible spectrum of light and color to affect a person’s mood and physical or mental health. Each color falls into a specific frequency and vibration, which many believe contribute to specific properties that can be used to affect the energy and frequencies within our bodies. While it is common knowledge that light enters through our eyes, it’s important to note that light can also enter through our skin. Given the unique frequencies and vibrations of various colors, people believe that certain colors entering the body can activate hormones causing chemical reactions within the body, then influencing emotion and enabling the body to heal.

You can prepare to work in color therapy by taking a certificate or diploma, like those awarded by the Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) or The Association of Natural Medicine (ANM). Color therapy may sometimes be included as part of a broader complementary or holistic therapy course, so check with training providers about this.

Reflection:

No I don’t think I would like to be a color therapist because it doesn’t seem so exciting its an okay job for me.
