Craniosacral Therapy

Duties and Responsibilities:

Craniosacral therapy is based on the work of an American osteopath, Dr William Garner Sutherland, who developed a new approach to osteopathy known as the ‘Cranial Concept’ in the early 1900s. He discovered that the skull’s bones and the fluids which surround the brain have intrinsic movements. Their natural pulsations reveal different rhythms and energy processes which influence the whole body and our health. They can become restricted or inhibited in case of trauma, stresses and strains.

$67,000

The Craniosacral Therapy Association (CSTA) publishes a register (updated yearly) of members who have qualified from one of its accredited schools and are involved in continuing professional training. The following schools run training courses accredited by the CSTA. The courses can last 1 or 2 years or more, depending on their format:College of Craniosacral Therapy. Craniosacral Therapy Educational Trust. Institute of Craniosacral Studies. Resonance Trainings. The Karuna Institute

Reflection:

I don’t think I would like to be a Cranioscaral Therapist because it doesn’t seem like a type of job I would like to peruse. Also I think it wouldn’t be a exciting job to do.

“The best recreation is to do good.”

William Penn

Reflection:

I think what this quote by William Penn means that if you’re a good person good things will come to you. You will be respected and be happy. But if you are a bad person all that will come your way are bad things. You will be disrespected and you will be ashamed of yourself.

“Right is Right even if everyone is against it wrong is wrong even if everyone is for it”

William Penn

Reflection:

I think what William Penn is trying to say that it doesn’t matter how many people are doing something wrong it still won’t make it right. Just because someone else is doing that doesn’t mean you have to do it as well. You have to make the right choices yourself not because someone else told you to.

Yoga Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Yoga instructors help to guide students in yoga through a variety of postures, or asana, and breathing exercises referred to as pranayama. Instructors provide hands-on direction to make sure students are performing movements properly and applying the breathing techniques. Yoga instructors may work in a class or in a one-on-one setting.

Salary:

$36,900-$66,530

Education:

Training standards are not required throughout the industry, but the nonprofit group Yoga Alliance has established training standards for yoga instructors. Yoga Alliance requires instructors to receive at least 200 training hours, with a specified portion of those hours focusing on techniques, teaching methodology, anatomy, philosophy and physiology, as well as other areas. The Yoga Alliance registers or accredits schools that train students to its standards.

Reflection:

Maybe I would like to be a Yoga therapist because yoga is calm and relaxing to do. But then sometimes it does get boring at times and a little hard.

Don’t sacrifice what you want most for what you want now. Write down what you want most and see it often.” –Peter Vidmar

Reflection:

I think what Peter Vidmar is trying to say that if you truly want something that you want because that’s just temporary and your goal is forever. Always work on your goal because one day you may achieve it only if you work on it but if you forget about it for something else you’ll never succeed
