Licensed practical nurse
Duties
and Responsibilities:
A licensed practical nurse (LPN) in much of
the United States and most Canadian provinces is a nurse who cares for people
who are sick, injured, convalescent, or disabled. LPNs used to be under the
direction of registered nurses and are now under physicians.
Salary:
$41,540
Education:
LPNs
are licensed by the state in which they practice. To obtain an LPN license, the
state may require background checks and proof of education. Every state
administers the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCLEX-PN) exam,
which candidates have to pass to obtain their license.
Reflection:
No I don’t think I would like to be a
Licensed Practical Nurse. I wouldn’t want to work as the career because it’s
not a very interesting job and it’s not the type of work I would like to do. Also
they don’t get paid very much so no I wouldn’t want to be this.
